Tornado Warnings in Mass. and N.H.

We are under a tornado warning here in N.H as is Massachusetts next to us. One tornado has already touched down in Springfield as well as Westfield, Mass.

What are the odds? We never have tornadoes up here!

Last week a tornado touched down in New York, which is unusual, and ripped the roof off of my brother's sister-in-law, Robin's house. They were at work thankfully and no one was hurt. Robin's mother had died the week before and this family is deeply grieving her loss. The last thing they needed was a tornado to hit their house, also. The same week, her husband, who is in the Reserves, got called up for duty. Please keep this family in your prayers - they are under tremendous stress.

  3. Thank you, DG. A number of tornadoes have touched down about an hour away from here but none where we are so far.

  4. Karin,
You too? I think Massachusetts (I live on the border of Mass. and NH.) has had ten tornadoes touch down so far (which is unheard of around here). I'll keep you in my prayers.

Thanks for the prayers for Robin!

  8. How scary! We have had some wild weather here in Australia, too, but nothing like you're facing. We will definitely keep you in our prayers.

And, thank you for your kind comments about my portraits on Sue's blog, Mary. I really appreciate the encouragement:)

You have a lovely, inspiring blog - it's just beautiful, Mary:)

  9. Thank you, Bernie! They really need all the prayer they can get right now. I can't imagine dealing with the death of your mother, a tornado ripping the entire roof off the house and having your husband called up for duty in the midst of all this. Hugs to you too, Bernie :)

  10. Colleen,
Thank you! The funnel cloud veered south of us and didn't touch down, thankfully. I didn't realize your mom lived in NH, too - for some reason I thought she lived in Maine. If you ever come up this way don't forget to let me know :)

  11. Hi JBR! I have never seen a funnel cloud or tornado in real life and I'm glad I still haven't! After seeing the devastation over the past few weeks that tornadoes can cause I was really praying that God would keep people safe. I realize that some folks did die in Massachusetts and many were injured but I am at the same time glad it wasn't worse like in Joplin. Hugs to you, my friend!

  12. Jade,
How weird and unexpected, wasn't it? Living not far from me you know how uncommon it is to have tornadoes touch down and like you I was horrified watching the news and seeing the devastation caught live on tape in Springfield. Thank you for your prayers! I will continue praying for the people in Mass. affected by this too. Glad you are fine!

  13. Vicky,
Thank you for your prayers and your wonderful comment about my blog! We usually don't have to worry about tornadoes where I live in the U.S. so people were very unprepared.
I should have left the comment on your blog, not Sue's! It fascinates me watching the progression of your artwork in steps on your site - you have a beautiful gift!
