I was searching for a conversion story that I had read online last year and found interesting when I ran across Moira Noonan's story. I haven't read her book Ransomed from Darkness but you can get a general idea of what it's about from the link above. Sometimes the dangers of the occult are best pointed out by those who were involved in it.
In the Vatican Document, Jesus Christ - The Bearer of the Water of Life, we can read what the Church has to say about the New Age Movement. It helps us understand why this movement doesn't fit in with Catholicism and never will.
I don't know what time zone you're in, but our post times for this afternoon (on this same topic) were about 10 minutes apart - and we linked to the same Vatican document. I'm wondering if someone(s)out there is/are in specific need of that document's info today? May God bless and enlighten all who come across this. And thank you for the link to Moira Noonan's story. Excellent.
ReplyDeleteThe order of Sisters who taught me in grade school now uses and teaches Reiki and "healing touch." Sad. Tragic.
Mary, Thanks for the link to Moira's story. What is more frightening than the fact that this stuff is out there is that it has infiltrated the Church. I'm not surprised, but that is scary. I can relate to a little of what Moira said. I whole heartily agree that we need more education on this in the Church~know the enemy so to speak.
ReplyDeleteI read Nancy's post right before yours. I agree with her~someone must need that document as well as these posts.
I have to admit that I never set the time zone on my blog..lol. I'll have to fix that at some point. I live in the northeast but I have no clue what time zone my blog is set for.
ReplyDeleteWhen I visited your site I DID notice we linked to the same document :)
Sad about the Sister who teaches Reiki...
Hi Karin,
ReplyDeleteIt could be that someone needs to read it. I know God is good about leading people to what they need at just the right time. I liked the other article Nancy linked to also - it was a good one.
These things have been in the Church for a while. Ten years ago some Sisters at an Oblate retreat house in a town next to ours were doing similar things.
I read Maria Noonan's book. It's awesome.
ReplyDeleteHi Anabelle,
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear it was good because I was thinking about buying it. Thanks for commenting on it - I was wondering if anyone had read it and if it was worth the read.
