"So shall the King desire thy beauty"

"Set me as a seal on your heart, as a seal on your arm"

Since I began blogging about a year and a half ago I have come across many wonderful Catholic blogs. On occasion I'll come across one that speaks to my heart in a special way and inspires in me a greater love for our Lord. This week's Catholic Treasure is Daughter of the King. I've always felt that Karinann's site is aptly named and that God has blessed her with a special gift that I like to call single-heartedness ... her eyes are fixed on God. She writes with a beautiful honesty that is hard to come by these days and her love for God is palpable. When I think of Karinann it seems to me that she is very like Mary, Martha's sister, despite her busy life, and that she has chosen the better part and it will not be taken from her. I also have no doubt that, spiritually, she is paving the way for many conversions.

Karinann's Reversion Story is a powerful witness to God's love for his people and his longing to heal them and gather them to himself. I was deeply touched by her story. For those of you that have family and friends who have walked away from their faith please read her post today. It will fill you with hope.

"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God."

  1. Mary,
What a beautiful surprise. Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging words.
Being compared to Mary Magdalen is also an honor- I have great devotion to her and she is one of my patrons for this year. If I can love Our Lord even half as much as she did, I will be a happy lady.
Thank you not only for the link to the blog but to my reversion story and today's post.
I am humbled and honored to be a part of this awesome Catholic blogging community.
    Hugs & blessings!

  4. Karinann's posts are always so well researched. She's certainly one Blogger I would not argue with because she's so far knowledgeable than me.

    Thanx Karinann for your Blog.

And thanx to you too Mary for all your hard work on this Blog and for bringing so many other Blogs to your readers' attention.

    God bless.

  5. You have such a keen way of looking at people Mary! To see the contemplative Mary choosing the better part when you think of Karinann, well that would be completely right, I think!

  6. Victor,
No, I wouldn't argue with her either ;) She's combines both knowledge and heart - a very good mixture.

  7. Anne,
Everyone is unique and glorifies God in a different way :) He has placed wonderful gifts in each of us! I like to honor Him by being grateful for the gifts he has given others because they help us all. That's the great thing about being a part of the Body of Christ on earth - we get to share in each others gifts :)

  9. Mary and Victor,
Please feel free to argue with me anytime. I don't know as much as you both think I do. I do do some research- the rest is the Holy Spirit.

Thank you all for your too kind comments.

  10. Karin,
I don't think Victor and I like the taste of foot nor eating our own words (Victor prefers a nice roast beef I believe) so we refrain from arguing unless we are 100% sure of being right ;) You know the old saying about pride, it's the last thing to go...

LOL! I hope Victor doesn't read this comment!

  11. Hi Bernie! I hope you are doing well. I bet it's getting cold up there because it sure is chilly here! Michaela wants snow already but I would prefer to wait for December. Hugs to you, too :)

  12. Too right Mary ... roast beef is better than putting one's foot in one's mouth.

I visit Karinann's Blog to learn not to argue. Chances are she knows far more than me!

I visit your Blog because of its variety ... one post is serious and thought-provoking whilst the other is entertaining and makes one smile.

    God bless.

  13. Victor,
Actually, I think it was a nice juicy steak that you mentioned on Heart for God when she tagged you for the favorite food meme. Both are far tastier than foot I imagine.

Karin is a school teacher I believe so I'm not inclined to argue with her because I have a feeling she would put me in the corner with a dunce cap on. Either that or send me to the great Headmaster's office in the sky where my hands would get tapped by the Ruler ;)

  14. I will join you both for the roast beef or steak. And Mary- fear not- I have never really been the dunce cap or headmaster type.
Victor wrote about coffee in heaven; maybe there is steak too :)
Alright I am having way too much fun with this~I'll stop now.

  15. Karin,
Poor Victor! Coffee...yes. Steak...no way. Not in heaven, anyway, so I hope he can live without it ;)
No, I didn't really take you for the dunce cap or headmaster type :) I was just trying to instill a little fear into Victor in case he woke up grumpy one morning and felt argumentative.
Okay, I'm going to stop now, too (lol).
