Mine eyes have seen the Glory!

" May God have pity on us and bless us; may he let his face shine upon us. So may your way be known upon the earth; among all nations, your salvation. May the peoples praise you O God; may all the peoples praise you!"      Psalm 67: 2-4

I love this psalm, I can't read it without smiling. Today, this psalm is my prayer; that all nations may praise Him. That every single person on the earth becomes aware of God's infinite love and mercy. That the entire world would humble their hearts and kneel before Him. Imagine the greatness of such a day :)  And never say never. Our God is King!

I titled this, " Mine eyes have seen the Glory", because this song has become an endless refrain in my heart. It started a month ago when I was kneeling before the Blessed Sacrament during Adoration and it has never left me.I hadn't heard this song since I was a child so I looked up the lyrics. http://www.hymns.me.uk/mine-eyes-have-seen-the-glory-favorite-hymn.htm  What a powerful song! Two phrases particularly struck me:

"Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel."
"He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment seat."

Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Utterly Thine, O Lord!

  1. This song is also known as The Battle Hymn of the Republic-how appropriate for we truly are fighting a battle!
    Thanks and God Bless!

  3. David,
I appreciate your concern but I don't quite understand why you feel that Saint Faustina's apparitions were false. The Church takes great care in discerning these things and believes that she is a great saint. Saint Philip Neri is a great saint, also, but just because he had a false apparition does not mean that all apparitions are false. You do not believe that Jesus or Mary could appear to sinners? Jesus gave His life for sinners; He loves them very much. The Bible says that all are sinners. So do you believe that all apparitions or locutions are false since Jesus died? The fruits of Medjugorje have been very good, but the Church has not decided on this and probably will not for a very long time. I do not need apparitions to believe in God, I trust the Church to discern these properly. However, I do believe that many of the apparitions will prove to be true. David, Jesus loved us enough to die for us; can we really put any limits on His power? May the Lord bless you :)

  4. Mary, I greatly admire your faith and I love your response to David's comment. No, we cannot put limits on His power, it is limitless!

There's a lovely award for you on my blog! Thanks for all that you do!

  5. I love that old hymn as well. The one that I adore the most however is Amazing Grace. I get a lump in my throat and sometimes tear up when I hear it or sing it. My heart sings it unto God, my spirit unto His Spirit knowing how very true are those words. It's as if it were written by someone who had some how heard the very depths of my heart and mind when I consider what my life was prior to my salvation and after it. I came to Christ as an adult and I can see the difference He has made in my life....the before and after picture of my soul.
