His Daughter

Each week, Holly at A Life-Size Catholic Blog hosts a meme called Pay it Forward where you can highlight another blogger or share with others posts from blogs that you would like to draw attention to.

My Pay it Forward this week goes to Karinann at Daughter of the King. Her blog is one of my personal favorites and her writing inspires me. I don't only read her posts, I "feel" her posts and that, to me, is the mark of someone who truly loves the Lord and is writing from the heart. Karinann is not afraid to speak the truth and I'd like to point everyone toward a particular post of hers called We are at War. Another post that struck me powerfully is God is the Lord. Both these posts contain truths that we really need to hear these days. We live in a secular society that has mostly forgotten God and these two posts are eye-openers. I highly recommend this site.

Karinann also writes for the Association of Catholic Women Bloggers and the Community of Catholic Bloggers.  Without Karinann's hard work the Community of Catholic Bloggers would never have gotten off the ground. Many, many, thanks for all that you do, Karinann.

  2. Mary,
Thank you so much for the beautiful and encouraging words about my blog. I am glad that my writing touches you. When I remember to get out of the way, the Holy Spirit does amazing things. I am proud to be part of this wonderful community known as the Catholic blogosphere. As for the Community of Catholic Bloggers, it never would have been if it weren't for your courage and hard work getting it up and out there. (I just made it look good :)
    Thanks again and God bless.

  3. Esther,
Karin's blog is excellent! I really don't think there is an area she has overlooked when it comes to our faith. And she is not afraid to speak up when it is called for - which is, to me, a huge plus in this day and age.

  4. Colleen,
A perfect description! I love it when people write from the heart. You do this too :)

Wish me luck bumbling about on the new Facebook account (lol). I am randomly pressing buttons when Randy's not around because I keep forgetting what he told me to do :) God bless!

  5. Thanks for posting on "Pay It Forward". I've visited over at Karinann's blog a number of times. I had no idea she was involved in getting the Community of Catholic Bloggers up and running. Kudos to both of you!

    God bless...

  6. Karin,
It always has done this (touched me). I have had numerous "witnesses in the spirit" while reading many of your posts and I trust that this is God pointing me toward truth and things I need to read.

You make me smile when you say that all you did was make Community of Catholic Bloggers look good. We both know it required a lot of work that I didn't know how to do and went beyond just the design work. Especially all that linking - it would have taken me forever even if I HAD figured it out.

People would laugh if they knew how I chose who to send invitations out to. A few of the bloggers I barely knew but I trusted God's leading hand. He knows what he's doing there. There are more bloggers I'd like to ask to join in but because of the unique circumstances I face as a mother to a child whose brain works a bit differently I have to put things off until she's back in school :)

  8. Holly,
Thanks for hosting it! The "Pay it Forward" meme was a great idea. I'm what you might call "computer illiterate" so Karinann's work was a blessing :)

  9. DG,
Yes, and I like the fact that she writes about a variety of subjects on her blog. When I visit I am never quite sure what her post will be about - prayer, saints, the Pope, conversion, the Sacraments, etc... I think she covers pretty much every subject a Catholic would be interested in and I like that.

  10. Thank you all for your very kind comments here and for the visits you paid to my blog today.
    Blessings to you all.
Mary, Good luck with that Facebook stuff- that is one area I have managed to stay clear of :)

  11. Karin,
I probably won't have much time to go on there (FB) but Randy put it up for the two of us. I'm not sure what I think about it yet :) Randy's family (who live in Texas) are on Facebook and it's a good way for everyone to keep in touch. I'm a bit wary of FB but I'm willing to test the waters :)

  12. Great pay it forward, Mary. I was especially moved in my soul reading the fear of the Lord post. Beautiful. I also marvel at how prolific Karinann is with posting to three sites, and sometimes to all thre in the same day!

  13. Colleen,
I don't know how she does it :) Fast typer, maybe? Lol! I'm lucky if I can get 1 or 2 posts up a week in the summer!

I loved the post "God is the Lord". I read it a bunch of times!

  14. Mary, what a perfect blog you have chosen for the "Pay it Forward" MEME! Karinann is great!

All of the comments here about the Community of Catholic Bloggers gives me guilt because I have yet to post anything there! At first I was too intimidated and afraid to post something that others could do so much better and then I just let it slip from my thoughts as I busied myself with so many big events in my life this summer.

I guess it's time for me to busy myself with writing!

  15. Anne, you are a very gifted writer and you are another blogger who writes from the heart so please don't be worried. As far as posting goes, I've only managed to get two up myself because during the summer it's difficult for me to post. I'm very much looking forward to reading your posts but don't feel pressured. When you are ready is fine :) God bless!

No more kiddos with shaved eyebrows I presume? Ha! Ha! That post cracked me up! God bless you my friend!
