Meet Caesar

Caesar is the newest addition to our family! He is a purebred Papillon puppy and very good natured, playful, and totally irresistible. He likes to take his owners for a lot of walks and thinks the world is one giant playground...or one giant chew toy. His little teeth are attached to my jeans as we speak. He is kid-friendly, easy to train (we haven't worked on the chewing yet), and my nickname for him is "Tumbleweed" because he loves somersaulting around the room.

Please note:
I did NOT put that hideous necklace around his neck for the above photo. This picture came with his papers. Me, I would NEVER put such a thing on a dog. How crass. It looks quite silly, to boot. I quickly exchanged it for a green bandanna ;)

The newspapers are for "just in case" (though I'm not sure how well he can read) but he has already figured out that the great oudoors is not only a giant playground but also a great place to take care of "business". And if he IS caught off guard in the house, well, reading the paper will help get things running smoothly. After all...it works for my husband.

  2. Jade and Theresa,
Isn't he cute?! His puppy antics make us laugh! I forgot how much fun puppies are (along with a lot of work). I have an elderly Schipperke and was a bit worried how they would get along but it seems to be going quite well. I am giving Zeb (the schipperke) extra attention so he won't get upset :)

Today, Caesar is getting a bath!

  3. Mary,
He is a cutie. I like the bandana much better than the beads :)

  4. Karin,
Just chalk it up to my good "puppy fashion sense" :) Beads are a no-no... real "men" wear ties.

  5. Now I'm confused ... are you saying your husband does his "business" on the newspaper whilst the dog can read it. Or is it the other way round?

That necklace would look good on my goldfish.

Enjoy the newcomer to your family.

    God bless.

  7. Victor,
I think they both do it at the same time :) Freud would have a ball with you and I, Victor, you know that don't you? Lol!

Is your goldfish a boy or a girl???

  8. Thanks Esther :) I don't think he liked his bath much though!

  9. I had two goldfish in a large tank in the house. I put them out in larger surroundings in the garden not knowing their sexes ... They wouldn't stay still long enough for me to find out, and the magnifying glass kept falling in the tank. Anyway ... after a year, I discovered we now have eight fishes. So I assume/deduce that one was male and the other female. Don't ask me what sexes are the new six fishes.

I think Freud did his "business" in his office. I wonder what his clients thought!

    God bless.

  10. Victor,
You'll find out their sexes soon enough is my guess :) You can save the magnifying glass for your own "paper reading". The eyes start going eventually, you know.

Yes, Freud never left the office or so it seems to me. I think we can safely assume he did all his "business" there. Maybe his clients did too because Freud seemed awfully focussed on complexes and body functions.

    Just saying :)

  11. Green is definitely his color! I'm sure he'll bring much love, laughter and pure joy to your family. Of course, you'll have to add in a bit of frustration until he's housebroken!!

  15. Are you familiar with the "Fancy Nancy" series of children's books? There's one with a papillion puppy and I'm sure that one wears beads! Your Caesar is adorable! Congratulations!

  16. Colleen,
Hee!Hee! Of course I did! I wanted to put a hat on him too but then decided that was overkill ;) It's important to keep accessories minimal you know :)
