Sabbath Moments

Sabbath Moments is a weekly meme hosted by Colleen at Thoughts on Grace. These are the moments we "let go and let God" and live in the present moment. Here are some of my Sabbath Moments this week:

~ I'm enjoying the nice weather we've been having. My favorite season is Fall and we are getting a good taste of it this week. I especially like the crisp evenings. I like to sit on the deck and just breathe in the fresh air. It's invigorating!

~ I love my morning prayer and Mass routine during the school year. Meditating on the mysteries of the Rosary prepares me for Mass and helps me get into the "right frame of mind" on hectic mornings. I just wish I would remember to bring my Magnificat with me once in a while. I like to see the readings while I am listening to them...it helps them sink in.

~ I haven't been reading very much this week but I pulled the book Imitation of the Sacred Heart of Jesus off my bookshelf and have begun digging into it again. I love books that teach us how to be more like Jesus.

~ My daughter has been telling me I'm the "best mom in the world" before she goes to sleep at night :) I'm not, of course, but I still love to hear those words!

  1. I mere fact that you deny the title prolly suggests that you are in the legitimate running.

  2. How precious of your daughter to say that! She is a treasure to you and you to her. Hold on to these memories.

  3. Puff,
I could probably improve a lot in this area but it still makes me smile when she says it. The fact that I am the only mother she really knows about doesn't lessen my happiness at hearing these words :)

  4. Colleen,
Oops! I forgot to link your site before I dashed off this morning - I fixed it though.

Some books are worth many rereads. There are a number that are my favorites and I go back to them regularly. I think the book I've read the most is "The Practice of the Presence of God". I love that book.

God bless! And don't forget to send my geese back in the spring :)

  5. Barb,
Yes, she is a treasure :) I may joke around about school being in session and having extra time on my hands but I miss her while she's gone.

  6. Well, you're the best mom in the world for her or God wouldn't have given you to her! Loved the Peace Poem too. Did you write it?

  7. I never thought of it that way, ThereseRita :)
Yes, I wrote it and I'm glad you liked it. God bless!

  8. That's a lovely list Mary! Since my son has started going to a Catholic school, I've been able to go to daily mass (on most days) and then stay and pray with the rosary group. I've loved that!
