You need to see this

My mother-in-law e-mailed us this picture of the fire that has raged through parts of Texas. It has destroyed 1600 hundred homes so far. The fire is 75% contained but Texas needs rain badly. Here is a link that speaks about this terrible drought. Please pray for rain.

  2. Isn't it awful, Victor? My husband's family lives in Texas and they have told us horror stories about the terrible drought and heat down there. Wildfires, crop loss, cattle deaths...it's unrelenting. They are actually moving fish from one of the rivers to save them. I think this one may go down in the record books if it doesn't let up soon.

  3. Mary, we know the heart break of bushfire or wildfire here in Australia. Of course, we will offer prayers. The possibility of fires breaking out is a hazard of summer and that season is almost upon us. I love living near the bush but it's worrying too. Praying the fires in Texas are soon completely contained before more lives and homes are lost. God bless.

  4. I remember the terrible fires in Australia this past year, Sue, and I pray this year is better. Thank you for praying, I just read that the heat and drought in Texas have broken all previous records.

  5. Such awful destruction in such breathtaking beauty. My friend and most of my family live in Texas and the people there are really suffering from the drought. If you've noticed beef prices going through the roof, it's not just the cost of transportation to the grocery store, it's the lessening of cattle herds on ranches due to the weather. Prayers for Texas and thanksgiving for us in Missouri where we are finally getting much cooler weather and lots of rain today.

  6. Colleen and JBR,
So many people have lost their homes. It's very sad.

  7. Barb,
I'm glad to hear things are cooling off a bit in Missouri and that you are getting some rain. I looked at the drought map for the country and though Texas seems hit the hardest a number of other states desperately need rain too.
I figured beef prices would go up.
