If nothing else, my little girl is honest. After sitting through Mass and paying attention the entire time she told Sister E. during bible study, "I'm just a kid. I have too much energy in me and I cannot sit down any longer. I just can't do it, Sister."
Well...that was certainly to the point.
Sister E, don't say I didn't give you fair warning :)
That makes me smile! Have a great week!!
ReplyDeleteI sympathise with your little girl.
ReplyDeleteSometimes adults don't realise the short attention span in some youngsters, and the not so young.
One of our priests is so slow and with such long tedious sermons that lead to nowhere that often children in church get somewhat fractious. Last Sunday he went on for so long I had to check my pulse several times to ensure I was still alive.
At one stage, whilst listening to his sermon, I was suddenly awakened by a sharp elbow in my ribs. I listen better with my eyes closed - honestly.
But he did go on and on ... so much so that by the time he had finished his sermon the young couple sitting up front were playing with their grand-children!
God bless.
Victor,
ReplyDeleteIt was probably the snoring that gave you away!
Michaela's attention span is improving but trying to sit still for over 2 hours is difficult so Sister Elizabeth let them run around the gym. She loves children and is very patient :)
ReplyDeleteHi Mary
ReplyDeleteThis is lovely. Children are so honest and sometimes so very astute. Thanks for sharing this lovely slice of life. God bless you and little Michaela.
Thanks Breadgirl! God bless you, too.
