Michaela made her first Confession and her First Communion this weekend and I couldn't resist putting up a few pictures! The first picture is from Saturday when the kids went to Confession and the rest are from Sunday. We weren't allowed to take pictures at Mass except during the procession so we have very few from inside the church. In the last photo the children had just crowned the Blessed Virgin Mary. It was a great weekend!
What a beautiful angel!!!! God bless Michaela and tell her congratulations!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these Mary- love the picture of the kids with Our Lady.
ReplyDeleteThanks, DG! I'll tell her - she be thrilled to get comments on the post :)
ReplyDeleteKarin,
ReplyDeleteIt was so cute! They put a gorgeous basket of flowers in her hands too! The songs were beautiful!
Mary oh so sweet. Beautiful all in white. Blessings to you dear one.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations and may God bless you all.
ReplyDeleteHi Mary. Michaela is so beautiful! I bet you cried with joy. Is that your husband in one of the photos? I was interested to see what the boys were wearing. Here, in Australia, the boys don't wear a white vestment or gown. Instead they dress in their best clothes complete with white shirt and tie. I guess that is what the boys in your photos are wearing underneath their white garments. Different traditions for different places, no doubt. Now I am wondering where you live! God bless.
ReplyDeleteThanks, JBR! I hope things have settled down a bit for you at work. You are in my thoughts and prayers!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Victor! May God bless you and yours too :)
ReplyDeleteHi Sue! Yes, that's my husband - I laughed because their half-smiles were exactly the same in this picture. My husband looks pretty good for a man in his forties I think! Why is it that men age so well? Not fair! Lol!
ReplyDeleteI live in the Northeast US. It's such a tiny state that I call it Cow Hampshire :)
I don't know why the boys have to wear robes. I go to a very traditional Church, maybe that has something to do with it. God bless!
Oh how beautiful. It must have been such a special day! God bless your daughter as she continues on her faith journey!
ReplyDeleteThahk you Mary.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Colleen! She feels like a "big" girl now ;) She used to walk up for Communion with me every week and has been pestering me since she was a tot about when it would be her turn (lol)!
ReplyDeleteJBR,
ReplyDeleteI've been reading your posts and can see that your stress has increased a lot since the move. I really hope things at work settle down a bit, I've been worried about you. I know, I know, I shouldn't be worried about someone I've never met in person but as I always tell you - I've got a soft spot for you ;) Hugs!!
Congratulations to Michaela and well done, Mom!
ReplyDeleteThanks Anne! And congratulations to John and a job well done to you too, Mom! I pray that when Michaela is a teenager that she loves the Lord like John does! He's a great teenager!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! How wonderful. My little princess has another three years - she is excited!
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful photos and, as you know, Michaela is a beautiful girl. :) Congratulations on her milestone - prayers for her continued growing in Faith.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Diana! Time flies by so fast that your little princess will be there in no time :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sarah! Congratulations to your daughter, too, for her recent Confirmation :)
ReplyDeleteThat really was a cool restaurant you all went to that day - I never saw anything like it!

ReplyDeleteHi Mary, your husband does look good! But then so do you. The only time I remember the boys wearing robes for a First Holy Communion was in a very modernist parish! (All the girls wore them too. Sad they didn't get to wear a beautiful dress.)So different from your experience! Definitely different traditions for different places. BTW, we are a traditional parish too. God bless
ReplyDeleteThank you, Diana! The little kids always wish they could receive Communion too. I've seen some tots stick out there tongues or hands when they go up to Communion with mom. I even saw a baby do this once - it was so cute. At least they get a blessing!
ReplyDeleteSarah,
ReplyDeleteAnd congratulations to your daughter on her recent Confirmation! I am still awestruck at that restaurant you all went to! I never saw anything like it!
Thanks Sue! I'm surprised that the girls didn't get to wear real Communion dresses - they must have been disappointed! My daughter LOVES dressing up! I guess it's as you say, just different traditions in different areas.
ReplyDeleteHope your new cat is making friends with the others ;)
Very lovely pictures. She looks like such a sweet heart. You're really blessed, but I know you know that already.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Barb and Colleen! Today was her second time receiving and she was so excited!
