Spring is finally here! Yeah! Or maybe I should rephrase that as we seemed to have missed Spring and jumped right into Summer this week. It's actually hot! The sun finally made its appearance the past few days after weeks and weeks of gray, gloomy weather. It's funny how the sun can cheer a person right up. My daughter is much happier being able to get outside and play. She and her friend have been making some sort of weird "stew" all week. New ingredients, fresh from nature, added every day...which is fine as long as I'm not the one chosen to eat this new and improved (or so she claims) recipe.
The "Stew Meister"
The "stew". And, yes...they added liquid to this pretty basket : )
Dear Lord I LOVE this child. She brings me Sabbath Moments every single day, even while she's sleeping.

Fresh "stew" anyone? It's 100% organic :)
P.S. (Pay attention to my daughter's hair color because it has something to do with my next post. And I'm sure many of my frequent readers know where this is going....again. Lol.)
Hi Colleen! Children are a lot of work but what precious gifts from God they are!
ReplyDeleteAs for my next post, you know me and my hair woes - when will I ever learn? Never, I guess :) Could be worse I suppose. Didn't turn orange this time! Lol!
The "stew" is such a fun and creative thing for your daughter to do. I remember many wonderful "pretend" moments with my brother playing outside when we were little. That picture is so cute. Makes me want to go get an ice cream cone. If we just stop and take the time we can see the many ways God blesses us every day in the people and nature around us.
ReplyDeleteHi Barb! I made stews when I was a kid too :) My friends and I loved playing pretend!
ReplyDeleteBelieve it or not that ice cream is a "small". I was shocked when I saw the size of it! Makes me want one too but I've been trying not to eat sweets very often. Ice cream is my favorite sweet so it's a toughie to give up.
Have a great weekend, Barb!
Will keep your daughter's hair color in mind. Nice post Mary. Blessings.
ReplyDeleteHi JBR! I was glad to hear that it was nothing serious with your mum. Enjoy your long weekend! You get Monday off I hope :) God bless!
ReplyDeleteI love your dgt's ice cream...that's one super one. and the stew...we've done those. tons of fun
ReplyDeleteSarah,
ReplyDeleteHee! Hee! Is there anyone who hasn't made these types of stew when they were young? I admit - I still help her make them at times. We take all the past date foods in my kitchen and make horrible concoctions that reek! Fun, though :)
Mary had to stop by. I have three favorite saints and two of them we share: St. Teresa of Avila and St. Faustina. My third is St. Therese. I have reading biography of St. Padre Pio on my short list so I may be with you on that favorite saint too. Also love praying the Divine Mercy Chaplet and the Rosary---especially the Scriptural Rosary---helps me meditate on the mysteries better. Thanks for coming over to my site too! God Bless you, your husband, and your stew meister (cute little girl)!
ReplyDeleteOh Mary! I remember so many wonderful summer days making 'stews'. Isn't it lovely being able to relive all those special days with our own children?
ReplyDeleteSue,
ReplyDeleteIt sure is! It's been one of Michala's favorite activities ever since she was a tot!
